Happy Labor Day!!! I hope your holiday weekend is going well. I've seen some family, ate some BBQ, and rested a bit. I guess this is what our ancestors wanted when this holiday was created. WRONG!!! History tells us that this day was created for working people. Folks who combated greedy business owners who were dollar driven and ruthless robberbarrons. Sound familiar? At the turn of the 19th century, our country came out of slavery and went into an industrial age. Laws were needed to ban child labor, limit the workday, and put in safety reforms. Slowly but surely we are fighting the same thing from over 100 years ago. Its meaner, craftier, and more politicized fight between the haves and the have nots. We must put our differences aside to reach the common goal of liberty for all. We as a nation have yet to live up to this creed. But we're closer. And we can keep pushing for our inalienable rights. Our paths have crossed at this time to move forward....together....towards are best life. The purple life. What lessons did you learn today? What does this holiday mean to you?
